Ulsoor Lake is one of the oldest lakes in Bangalore with its origins dating back to 1537, commissioned by Kempe Gowda II. Ulsoor Lake spans approximately 123 acres and features several small, picturesque islands. A portion of Ulsoor Lake is maintained by the Madras Engineer Group (Madras Sappers), an engineering wing of the Indian Army, for training purposes. A well-maintained 3 km track encircles the lake. Ulsoor Lake is a habitat for species like Common Herons, Cranes, and Brahminy Kites. Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara, the largest Sikh house of worship in Bangalore is located just minutes from Ulsoor Lake.
