Sakrebyle Elephant Camp is a prominent eco-tourism destination located on the banks of the Tunga River, approximately 14 km from Shivamogga (Shimoga) city in Karnataka state. Managed by the Karnataka Forest Department, it serves as a rehabilitation and training centre for captive elephants. At Sakrebyle Elephant Camp visitors can watch and participate in scrubbing the elephants in the Tunga River. One can also observe mahouts feeding the elephants and enjoy close-up interactions. Arrive by 8:30 AM at Sakrebyle Elephant Camp to catch the elephant bathing sessions, which are the main attraction.
