Pahalgam also known as the "Valley of Shepherds" is a world-renowned hill station in the Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir. Situated at an altitude of approximately 7,200 feet (2,200 m) on the banks of the Lidder River, Pahalgam serves as a major tourist destination and the starting point for the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. Top attractions of Pahalgam include Betaab Valley, Aru Valley, Baisaran (Mini Switzerland), and Lidder River. Pahalgam golf course is one of the highest 18-hole golf courses in the world, set at 7,250 feet. The nearest airport is in Srinagar (approx. 95 km away from Pahalgam).
