Both B.R. Hills (Biligirirangana Hills) and M.M. Hills (Male Mahadeshwara Hills) are popular hill destinations near Bangalore, offering a blend of spiritual significance and wildlife adventure. While B.R. Hills is approximately 170–190 km from the city, M.M. Hills is slightly further at about 210–250 km. At B.R. Hills, Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple is an ancient hilltop temple dedicated to Lord Ranganatha (Vishnu), offering panoramic valley views. There is also BRT Wildlife Sanctuary - a tiger reserve and a crucial wildlife corridor connecting the Eastern and Western Ghats. K. Gudi Wilderness Camp, located about 20 km from the temple, is the primary spot for jungle safaris. At M.M. Hills, Sri Male Mahadeshwara Swamy Temple is a major Shaiva pilgrimage centre dedicated to an incarnation of Lord Shiva.
